Another Dem hops on McDonnell transportation train

They just keep coming.

Another Democrat — Sen. Mark Herring of Loudoun — announced his support for Gov. Bob McDonnell’s plan to borrow about $3 billion to improve Virginia’s deteriorating transportation infrastructure system, one day after the proposal cleared a key hurdle in the Senate Finance Committee.

“As the Governor has repeatedly acknowledged, this plan is a first step in addressing Virginia’s long-term transportation infrastructure needs,” Herring said. “All of the experts, including the governor himself, are in agreement: Virginia needs over $1 billion … per year to adequately meet those needs. While I do have concerns about relying on borrowed money, Virginia does have significant short-term needs that these funds can immediately address.”
