It’s campaign fundraising season, and last quarter’s winners and losers have been announced. The campaign in the most trouble seems to be that of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who raised just $2 million in the second fundraising quarter of the year and ended the month of June with $225,000 in the bank, Poltico reports.
Newt has paid off about 10 percent of $1.2 million in invoices in the three weeks following the mass resignation of most of his senior aides in June but his campaign may be in the hole for as much as one million dollars due to what former aides say are his and his wife Callista‘s lavish spending habits which include at least two hefty lines of credit at Tiffany’s
