Keith Ablow, once a familiar face on Fox News as an on-air doctor and fierce critic of President Barack Obama, has had his medical license suspended after allegations of sex with patients, and brandishing guns in his workplace.
The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine said Ablow was an “immediate and serious threat to public health” because he allegedly had “engaged in sexual activity and boundary violations with multiple patients, diverted controlled substances from patients, engage in disruptive behavior, including displaying and pointing a firearm on multiple occasions in a manner that scared an employee,” according to the Boston Globe.
Paul Cirel, Ablow’s lawyer, disputed the board’s findings, telling the Boston Globe: “Dr. Ablow maintains that he is not guilty of any of misconduct and will vigorously defend this action at the appropriate hearing.” He continued, “Dr. Ablow has been, and will continue to be, a civic leader in the fight against domestic violence and getting care to returning veterans.”
Ablow, 57, who has been married for 14 years and has two children, is facing four lawsuits from women who say he took advantage of them after gaining their trust, with one saying he told her “I own you” and “You are my slave” while they were having sex.
A Fox News contributor until 2017, Ablow was a virulent critic of Obama. At one point, Ablow suggested first lady Michelle Obama should “drop a few pounds.”
