Journalists suspicious of a Trump golfing cover-up

Journalists from multiple news outlets called foul on Saturday when press pool reports were told them one thing about President Trump’s day, but pictures shared on social media seemed to tell a different story.

Late in the morning, Trump traveled from the White House to his golf club in Virginia. Reports from the White House press pool, the group of journalists who follow the president on a given day, said that they had been told the president would be taking part in meetings in the clubhouse.

However, in the absence of actually getting to see the president during the four hour-plus stay, some journalists picked up on a private Instagram account that seemed to be posting photos from inside the club showing Trump dressed for golf and travelling across the course in a golf cart. To some, this suggested that Trump may not have been involved in any meetings.

It didn’t take long for complaints and the conspiracy theories to fly on Twitter.
