Prepare yourself for the ”all inclusive” Lady Gaga halftime show

Last night, Lady Gaga took her press conference concerning her half-time performance. After expressing that was going to take the time to send a unifying message, she was asked by ExtraTV’s A.J. Calloway whether she planned on making any kind statements during her show.

“Well, I don’t know if I will succeed in unifying America,” she replied. “You’ll have to ask America when it’s over. The only statement I’ll make in the halftime show is the message I’ve been making throughout my career. I believe in a passion for inclusion. I believe in the spirit of equality, and the spirit of this country, one of love and compassion and kindness. So, my performance will uphold those philosophies.”

E! News Correspondent and activist Mariam Isa asked the singer to describe her fans.

“Your fans, your little monsters, are more than a army of ants, they are a movement. Could you please describe that movement?” she asked.

“My fans are the reason I do all of this,” the singer responded. “They have a tremendous spirit, and an outlook on the world; on its ability to change, on its power… Essentially, that kid that could not get a seat at the ‘cool kids’ table’, and that kid that was kicked out of the house because their mom and dad did not accept them for who he was, that kid is going to have the stage…”

For those of you that are looking forward to enjoying the 51st Super Bowl without a political agenda, forget it. Social justice liberals refuses to let any truly neutral pass-time go untouched.

The public has come to know Lady Gaga for her high tension and over-sexualized exhibition, and it can be inferred that will influence her performance. Last year, Lady Gaga performed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. When asked what that meant to her, she stated, “This is one of the highest honors… It marks what being an American is all about─ working hard… and the ultimate payoff .”

Choosing to focus on what makes people different will not unify America. It is the principles and values that America was founded on that unifies the people of the United States.

America’s message focuses on life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. The focus is not equality, diversity, and compassion. The sooner the entertainment industry resolves that for themselves, the sooner they see the unity they so feverously desire.

The arena of sports entertainment should be a place where people can escape from politics and simple enjoy one another. Best to leave it that way.
