By The Numbers: Ladies buy puppy, Portis

Besides Fight Night, Thursday evening was the 17th annual Knock Out Abuse Against Women gala at the Washington Ritz-Carlton. In the crowd we glimpsed Laura Ingraham, “Housewife” Stacie Scott Turner and Paul Wharton. At the after-party we saw White House chef Sam Kass and D.C. Mayor-elect Vincent Gray. Actress Gloria Reuben was on hand to honor Agnes Nixon, creator of “One Life to Live” and All My Children.”

One of the highlights of the night was a spirited live auction, where the gals bid big. Here’s what they bought:

$6,000 — the amount paid for a 10-week-old Goldendoodle puppy from Cedar Post Farm & Kennels. The pup was auctioned off by Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis.

$6,700 — the amount paid for the package “QT with CP,” which included dinner for six with Portis at Estadio in Logan Circle. Portis started undressing to get the bids to go higher. They did.
