Byron York makes some very good points in his article concerning possible G0P challengers against President Trump. But there is a significant element of Trump haters in the Republican camp. Consider all the GOP Congressmen who are not seeking re-election in 2020. But Trump ran into that in 2016 too. Both Bush the elder and Bush the younger pretty much said they would rather vote for Mrs. Clinton. And Bush the younger’s twin daughters were most certainly voting for Clinton. Of course they also supported Mr. Obama in two elections.
While as Mr. York pointed, out, these over-the-hill challengers do not present a roadblock for Trump, but he still has a rocky around ahead… but he’s lucky in having some very thin competition on the democratic front. It will depend upon how well he finishes out his last year on this first term.
