“Melting glaciers”: Group tells Princess Kate to stop having babies

A San Francisco-based population control group is calling on the world’s most famous royal couple to stop having children.

Having Kids, a nonprofit whose mission is to promote smaller families to prevent Armageddon (or something like that), has written an open letter to Prince William and Princess Kate, urging them to not have any more children. The letter is a response to the Duchess’ hinting last week that she would like to have a third child.

In the past, Princess Kate has reportedly said that she would ideally like four children. Gasp!

The letter reads, “As you know and appreciate, the example the British Royal Family sets is extremely influential. Many studies also show that public figures serve as effective role models when it comes to family planning. Your discussion of having a larger family raises compelling issues of sustainability and equity. Large families are not sustainable.”

The authors note that the future of the United Kingdom will be impacted by climate change, including “more severe flooding,” “deadlier heatwaves,” an “increase in diseases such as malaria,” and “wildlife extinctions.”

Forget about fossil fuels and cow farts, the addition of more people in the world is going to be the leading cause of the next major environmental catastrophe, according to this group.

“Melting glaciers could affect the North Atlantic circulation, completely changing the United Kingdom’s weather,” the letter warns. “All of us – especially public figures – should plan our families with the future environment in mind, producing a smaller and more resilient populace capable of thriving in that environment.”

While the royal couple has yet to respond to the absurd letter, many royal followers have blasted it on social media.

One commenter wrote on Facebook, “If someone wrote a letter to me suggesting how many children I should have, regardless of my societal status, I’d be sure to kindly return the letter, straight into their a**.”

It’s true that royals tend to dominate the media, but the fact is that the organization is targeting the wrong demographic — probably out of convenience.

It would be too politically incorrect to admit that it’s the Muslim population in the UK and other countries that is actually driving global birth rates. In the UK alone, Muslims have about four times as many children as non-Muslims, and these women aren’t going to model themselves after someone as secular as Princess Kate any time soon.
