Mike Huckabee compares Hillary, Bill Clinton to mobsters from ‘The Godfather’

Mike Huckabee better watch his back after this comment.

The former Arkansas governor and possible GOP presidential candidate drew a comparison between the Clinton “political machine” and the mobsters in the 1972 film “The Godfather” during an interview on “Fox News Sunday” this weekend.

Huckabee was particularly addressing the ongoing Hillary Clinton private e-mail scandal, which he labeled “problematic” and “very familiar” to typical Clinton behavior.

“These are people who know how to play politics,” Huckabee said of the Clintons, who he has personally dealt with because of their ties to Arkansas. “They play to win. They use every tool at their disposal to win.”

“I’ve always had a decent personal relationship with the Clintons — still do,” he continued. “I look at it like Michael Corleone [from ‘The Godfather’] once looked at the business he was in. It’s not personal, it’s just business.”

Huckabee said that anyone up against the Clintons in any election “better be up for one heck of a fight.”

Responding to reports that Clinton exclusively used a personal e-mail account during her time as secretary of State, Huckabee noted that Hillary broke the transparency “protocol” of the Obama administration — and that now members of said administration are “walking away” from her and refusing to defend her.

“I think there’s also some legal issues about whether its a good idea, even a lawful idea, to store top-secret information … on a personal server in a personal home away from all of the firewalls that the government would provide,” the Republican politician suggested.

Moreover, Huckabee supposed that the only reason Clinton would have used such questionable judgement would be to hide certain communications.

“I think anybody that has ever been in politics would love to keep a lot of things quiet, not because they’re necessarily evil or criminal but just because people want the candor of conversation,” explained Huckabee. “But, I think that in the position of secretary of State, one has to understand that they would be a serious target for being hacked.”

According to the former governor, such a scandal could haunt Hillary in her likely presidential campaign.

“Once this shadow of doubt has been placed, I think it’s going to linger throughout a presidential campaign should she decide to run,” Huckabee affirmed.
