Baltimore City firefighters tonight found a body inside a burned East Baltimore vacant house.
Fire department spokesman Kevin Cartwright said firefighters are unable to tell whether the body is a man, woman, adult or child ? or whether the fire caused the person?s death.
The blaze at the three-story dwelling in the 2000 block of Guilford Avenue broke out around 6:50 p.m. and firefighters got the flames under control in about 20 minutes, Cartwright said.
Firefighters heard reports that there were multiple people were trapped inside, but found only the one body upon extinguishing the flames, he said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
