United’s season opener to put himself at the forefront in MLS rookie of the year conversations but he hasn’t added to his four goals in league play since June. “Can I get one please? That’s all I want,” said Pontius, who has missed only three of United’s 41 matches in all competitions. “There’s a fine line and a confidence factor of once you start doing it, you grow from it,” said United head coach Tom Soehn. “He’s got to continue to get himself in spots, and eventually they’ll go his way.”
