First lady Jill Biden will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial in Arlington, Virginia.
It has been 22 years since American Airlines Flight 77, one of four planes hijacked by al Qaeda in the 9/11 attacks, was hijacked and crashed into the southwest corner of the Pentagon, killing all 64 passengers and 125 people in the building.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley also laid a wreath at the Pentagon Memorial in the morning.
