It’s difficult enough to get out to Loudoun County. Now, the threat of a transit workers strike has people worrying that getting around once you’re out there will be a pain, too.
WTOP is reporting that the 78 Loudoun County Transit bus drivers and mechanics who chauffer about 770,000 passengers per year are fighting for higher wages from operating company Veolia.
Employees earn between $15 and $17.65 per hour, but Veolia is threatening to lower that. The two sides are in negotiations to replace a contract that expires March 3.
