Those in Hollywood overwhelmingly slammed Vice President Mike Pence’s debate performance Wednesday evening, including actor Mark Ruffalo, who said it “was the prime example of white male supremacy.”
“Just going over it all in my head. The way Mike Pence constantly interrupted and spoke over @KamalaHarris was the prime example of white male supremacy and its common dismissal and disrespect for black woman,” Ruffalo tweeted.
Pence and California Sen. Kamala Harris met Wednesday evening for the first and only vice presidential debate, which touched on topics ranging from the coronavirus to systemic racism to the economy.
Others in Hollywood joined Ruffalo in criticizing the vice president or lauded Harris’s performance.
Pence is lying about who Biden will raise taxes on. Hint: It’s not working families.

#mikepence is a mealymouthed loyalist. This administration did nothing to help people get through this pandemic, NOTHING. He should hang his head in shame. I hope this follows him forever.

Pence lies with a smile. He’s a disgrace.
Part of being a great leader is being an honest person. Kamala Harris is an honest person. She’s ready to lead on day one. #Debates2020 #Kamala4VP #VPDebate

Some in Hollywood, however, slammed Harris or defended Pence’s performance.
Is it my imagination or has Kamala Harris absolutely dodged every single question she’s been asked?

Pence absolutely won!

.@Mike_Pence is keeping his composure and it’s good. He seems confident and it’s reassuring. So far he is outperforming @KamalaHarris #VPDebate
