CNN’s Chris Cuomo tests positive for coronavirus

CNN anchor Chris Cuomo tested positive for the coronavirus, the network announced Tuesday.

A memo to employees said Cuomo is feeling well and will continue to broadcast his 9 p.m. program from his home.

He was last in CNN’s offices in New York City’s Hudson Yards neighborhood on Friday.

“I have been exposed to people in recent days who have subsequently tested positive and I had fever, chills and shortness of breath,” Cuomo said in a statement. “I am quarantined in my basement … I will do my shows from here.”

It is at least the third case of the coronavirus in the network’s New York City offices. A majority of CNN employees have been working from home for several weeks.

Cuomo has interviewed his brother, Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, several times in recent weeks, including Monday evening, about the state’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

“He is going to be fine. He’s young, in good shape, strong. Not as strong as he thinks. But he will be fine,” the New York governor quipped Tuesday during his daily news briefing.
