Trump to press Putin on election meddling in Helsinki

President Trump said Thursday that he would press Russian President Vladimir Putin on Russia’s alleged election meddling when they meet in Helsinki Monday, but said there’s not much he can do if Putin denies it.

“We will of course ask your favorite question about meddling, I will be asking that question again,” Trump told reporters in Belgium Thursday morning.

When asked what he would do if Putin denies any election meddling, Trump said, “He may. I mean look, he may. What am I gonna do?”

“He may deny it,” Trump added. “I mean, it’s one of those things. All I can do is say, ‘Did you,’ and ‘Don’t do it again.'”

“But he may deny it,” Trump added.
