President Trump on Thursday said special counsel Robert Mueller spent more than $40 million so far in its investigation just to find out that “there was no collusion with Russia.”
“When will this illegal Joseph McCarthy style Witch Hunt, one that has shattered so many innocent lives, ever end-or will it just go on forever?” Trump questioned on Twitter Thursday morning. “After wasting more than $40,000,000 (is that possible?), it has proven only one thing-there was NO Collusion with Russia. So Ridiculous!”

There is no direct evidence of the costs of the investigation so far, but, according to Politifact, the office of the special counsel was officially budgeted $10.4 million in direct costs for fiscal year 2018, which ran from Oct. 1, 2017 to Sept. 30, 2018.
Since its inception, Trump has criticized the investigation for being a “witch hunt” run by “angry Democrats,” and has maintained that there was no collusion between his presidential campaign and Russia.
He asked in an earlier tweet, “Did you ever see an investigation more in search of a crime?”
Did you ever see an investigation more in search of a crime? At the same time Mueller and the Angry Democrats aren’t even looking at the atrocious, and perhaps subversive, crimes that were committed by Crooked Hillary Clinton and the Democrats. A total disgrace!
