‘She has no credibility’: Lemon condemns Cuomo for interviewing Trump spokesperson

CNN prime-time anchor Don Lemon was critical of his colleague Chris Cuomo for interviewing a Trump spokesperson.

The two hosts discussed Cuomo’s interview with Kayleigh McEnany during the hand-off from Cuomo’s show to Lemon’s on Wednesday night. The interview occurred earlier on his show and it featured a heated back and forth after McEnany claimed that the president has not lied to the American people once.

Lemon began by claiming that Trump has lied 48 times during the last six days, and held up printed papers to make his point.

“She has no credibility, Chris,” Lemon chided. “Someone like that has no credibility, look, put whoever you want on your show. This isn’t chastising you, but the audience gets nothing from her because she doesn’t tell the truth.”

Cuomo defended the appearance arguing that “you have to know what they’ll bring your way.”

“What you heard from Kayleigh McEnany is the campaign pitch of the election,” Cuomo rebutted. “That’s what they’ll be up against. If they’re not ready to take it on. If they don’t hear it and don’t understand how many people receive it, they’re gonna wind up in the same position they are now for another four years.”

Lemon proceeded to list claims from the president that he said were false including “people who were cheering in New Jersey after 9/11” or when “President Barack Obama was not born in the United States.”
