Hunter Biden went on text tirade over negative press, said father wouldn’t help

Hunter Biden went on a text tirade about his negative media coverage during his father’s presidential campaign, claiming to be “the most ethical man you will ever know” and saying he’s “never done a dishonest business transaction in my life,” according to screenshots from his laptop.

He also claimed to get no help defending his reputation.

Enraged in 2019 over a New York Times column by Maureen Dowd questioning whether Joe Biden could win given his family tree, Hunter Biden lashed out at a close relative who urged him to stay sober and suggested therapy.

“You think I’m a criminal. You think I need to apologize to [family] for the damage I’ve done through my ‘shady’ business deals,” Biden texted. “Thank you again for the support. Today. On this day that Maureen Dowd just f—— skewered me and made me the person that [Joe Biden] wins or looses (sic)…she flat out says that im the distraction that will make him the most vulnerable.”

The Feb. 23, 2019, column, titled “Uncle Joe’s Family Web,” mentioned colorful stories surrounding Hunter Biden’s marriage, an affair with his brother’s widow, and use of strippers and drugs. It then said the president-to-be should “Hold Hunter tight” as family drama became fodder at Washington, D.C., dinner parties.

The Bidens are a frequent subject for Dowd, who wrote this week about unexplained phenomena like aliens and asked, “Why in heaven’s name doesn’t anyone from the Biden White House return my calls?”

Hunter’s texts could be a good indication of why.

The texts started innocently enough, with the relative sending numerous unanswered “I love you” messages to Biden.

He finally wrote back the day after Dowd’s column saying, “You seem to have made it out of this relationship clean. The Maureen Dowds of the world and Vanity Fair and all the gossip that you allow about me to be repeated over and over. What do you want to talk about. The fact that you owe me nothing and that if everyone thinks im a fool and no one respects me that’s all my doing.”

It was followed by this exchange:

Relative: I’m trying to be supportive and loving, I know this is hard. I don’t want to argue or blame each other for anything. I’d love to hear your voice if it’s not going to make you angry with me.

Biden: We’ve not spoken in over two weeks and you say I’m arguing and blaming. Really I blame no one because there’s not a problem worth blaming someone for and I have no ARGUMENT WITH YOU AS far as I know….

Relative: I was talking about your text to me above. Sounds bitter and angry. I’ve reached out every day to let you know I’m thinking about you lovingly. I’m not asking for a thank you, but if it’s not helpful and supportive to you, I won’t continue to reach out. I deeply care for you but I don’t want to aggravate you.

Biden: The articles really pissed me off…the family mtg scheduled really pisses me off…ive been doing my work…keeping to myself as you told me too (sic)…and im just upset to wake up to what someone could have given me a little heads up on.

Relative: I had no idea! And I know nothing about a family meeting…

The relative asked for forgiveness, questioned Biden’s sobriety at that moment, and suggested counseling.

Biden then sarcastically claimed to have “damaged my entire families lives.” He then claimed to have high ethics and that he was the victim of people wreaking havoc on his life.

Next, he sent a series of story links he found offensive, including business deals in China, his dating habits, and a book by Joe Biden critic Peter Schweizer, Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption Enriches Family and Friends.

Hunter Biden then bemoaned the fact that no one defended him.

“You see one word of denial from dad or his staff?…That I’m not head of the largest criminal enterprise in the world…that I’m a traitor…That I stole money from my kids and wife?” Biden asked.
