Olive Garden sells 1,000 ‘Never Ending Pasta Passes’ sure to thrill nutritionists everywhere

Ron Swanson, Pt. 2: “Give me all the cavatappi and spicy three meat sauce you have.”

And he could’ve had it, too — for $100.

Olive Garden announced the sale of 1,000 “Never Ending Pasta Passes” Monday morning, which allow purchasers to eat unlimited pasta and drink unlimited Coca-Cola products at its locations from Sept. 22 through Nov. 9. The passes were made available to the public at 3 p.m. Monday.

“Never Ending Pasta Bowl is our most popular promotion all year – in fact, we served more than 13 million bowls of pasta during last year’s promotion,” Jay Spenchian, Olive Garden’s executive vice president of marketing, said in a release. “We’re excited to celebrate pasta superfans with our limited edition Pasta Pass, which brings even more value and excitement to our guests’ Never Ending Pasta Bowl experiences.”

Customers must’ve been excited, too — the URL given to obtain passes was inaccessible just minutes after the sale began.

For those who weren’t able to nab one, Olive Garden is still selling its Never Ending Pasta Bowl for $9.99 during the same September to November stretch.

One could quote a nutritionist about the health merits of this promotion. Then again, one could just go eat some pasta. The meatball’s on your plate, America.
