10 bad songs more popular than Jim Carrey’s ‘Cold Dead Hand’

While Jim Carrey may have hoped his anti-gun ditty, Cold Dead Hand, would appeal to the masses, the actor’s melody has done anything but well on iTunes.

The song, which he debuted last month on the comedy site FunnyorDie.com, has received less-than-rave reviews from iTunes users. Of the 1,369 who took the time to listen and review the tune, more than half gave it a mere one-star rating.

And the song is selling at the company’s lower price point — $0.99. Apple retails its songs to downloaders for $0.69, $0.99 or $1.29, with the most popular songs selling at the highest price.

While Carrey dodged the $0.69 bullet, we thought it’d be interesting to see which notoriously bad songs are actually selling for more than Carrey’s — racking up the cool points while Carrey simply flops.

1. “Stars Are Blind” – Paris Hilton

2. “Achy Breaky Heart” – Billy Ray Cyrus

3. Pretty much all songs by Nickelback

4. “JThong Song” – Sisqo

5. “I’m Too Sexy” – Right Said Fred

6. “Barbie Girl” – Aqua

7. “Overdosin” – Heidi Montag
