It’s not exactly a secret that the late-night shows—especially politically-centered ones like the Daily Show and the Colbert Report—skew pretty liberal. But the Obama administration didn’t have the greatest year, and that left even Jon Stewart calling the president’s moves “bulls—.” Here are twenty times to look back on where late night TV made Democrats the butt of their jokes:
1. Stewart kicked off the year by ripping Obama’s State of the Union address, applauding the president’s strategy to “announce goals so vague there’s no way to gauge if he’s actually achieved them.”

2. Colbert asked Obama (to his face) if he was still president after his party’s humiliation in the midterms: “That shellacking didn’t rattle the presidential seal off your podium?”

3. When Stewart—and everyone else in the world—called Obama out for blatantly flip-flopping on taking executive action on immigration reform.

4. After Joe Biden referred to the “Nation of Africa,” Jimmy Fallon surmised that “most of what he knows about Africa is based on ‘The Lion King.’”
5. This amazing Seth Myers clip that took Obama’s infamously annoying fundraising emails through the stages of grief.
6. Obama cancelled his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, and Kimmel retaliated by making fun of Obama’s penchant for attending fundraisers: “I feel like the president only comes to LA for money. He’s like a college student who comes home to do laundry and steal food from the refrigerator.”
7. When Stewart complained about Hillary and Biden’s “poverty Tourette’s”: “Why do you think we’ll believe them? I mean both you guys have had your faces on book covers.” (clip)
8. Jimmy Kimmel used the World Cup “I believe” chant to skewer Obama’s campaign message.
9. Colbert realized that Obama employs a lot of the same excuses liberals used to mock Bush over, and accused Obama of “mad-libbing the president’s greatest hits.” (clip)
10. When Jon Stewart just couldn’t get over how awful the Democrats were in the midterms.

11. Jimmy Fallon helpfully suggested some new book titles for Hillary, like “Hillary Clinton and the Deathly Haircuts” (clip)
12. Stewart called Obama’s BS on insisting that all 3,000 U.S. troops in Iraq are just “advisers.” (clip)
13. A Daily Show correspondent brought to light to how millennials literally don’t understand Obamacare at all. (clip)
14. Colbert mocked Democrats for “drawing a clear difference between them and their arch-nemesis, Barack Obama,” and noted that Michelle Obama could not get Bruce Braley’s name right if her life depended on it. (clip)
15. Stewart called Democrats corrupt over crony ambassador appointments. (clip)
16. Jimmy Fallon let “Putin” point out to Obama that nobody likes Obamacare. (clip)
17. Stewart lampooned the administration for not being sure whether or not they were at war with ISIS. (clip)
18. And finally, a thoroughly exasperated Jon Stewart couldn’t take Mary Landrieu’s spinelessness any more: “So, the party that lost the midterm elections because it didn’t stand for anything has decided, ‘Oh, I got an idea. What if we stood for less?’”
