WSSC: Help wanted for past-due payments

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, the water agency for Montgomery and Prince George’s counties, is starting a new program that “offers customers a convenient way” to pay higher water bills.

Customers enrolling in the agency’s “RoundUp” program, which starts Thursday, will see their bills rounded up to the nearest dollar. The proceeds go to eligible customers who are behind paying their water and sewer bills.

The agency says 150 ratepayers are helped each year by the Water Fund. A customer can receive up to $300 a year.
