Voters want lower inflation, Biden wants higher spending, Democrats can’t figure out why Biden is so unpopular

Another poll, another all-time low for President Joe Biden.

This time, it is NPR showing that just 42% of voters approve of Biden’s job as president, compared to 50% who disapprove. A Yahoo poll released earlier this week also found that a majority of voters (50%) disapprove of Biden, with 57% of them blaming Biden for record-high inflation.

The NPR poll also shows inflation as the biggest reason voters disapprove of Biden.

Despite all these flashing warning signs, Biden is still pushing his trillion-dollar spending bill, which the Congressional Budget Office says will add $791 billion to the national debt in just five years.

No wonder over half of voters say Biden has already made inflation worse and nearly 75% want Biden to focus on inflation instead of passing new spending on social issues.

Even people who voted for Biden in 2020 but voted for Republican Glenn Youngkin in 2021 are telling Democratic strategists that Biden needs to stop pushing more spending on social issues and instead focus on cutting inflation. A memo produced from a focus group of Biden-Youngkin voters explains:
Voters think we [Democrats] are focused on social issues, not the economy. They aren’t hearing us talk about the economy enough, and the things they are hearing about our agenda (people mentioned the child tax credit, paid leave, free college) don’t have to do with getting people back to work or taking on the cost of goods. That’s deadly in an environment when it’s the top issue.Democrats and their media allies can’t seem to figure out why Biden is so unpopular. Look at the polls, guys: It’s the spending, stupid.
