We all know that liberals, Democrats, and other left-wingers will try anything if it means imposing their radical morality and agenda on the people. They will criticize, demonize, vilify, and fearmonger to achieve their goals. Their tactics also include oppressive totalitarianism and seeking to punish those who resist and do not comply. The latest example is PayPal’s decision to fine people $2,500 who they felt were promoting “misinformation.” It was to go into effect on Nov. 3.

The financial technology company quietly updated its “Acceptable Use Policy” over the weekend, the Washington Examiner reported. It stated that any customer who PayPal discovered was promoting “misinformation” would be penalized with “liquidated damages” of $2,500. It was a move that resembled actions taken by Stalin’s Soviet Union, Castro’s Cuba, Mao’s China, Ho Chi Minh’s Vietnam, and other totalitarian, communist regimes.

This meant that if Paypal discovered someone posting such radical information as “men cannot have babies,” “men are not women,” or “there are only two genders,” they would likely be fined $2,500. It was just the latest example of the draconian measures the Left will resort to while trying to impose their political will.
Time and time, the Left has shown the tyrannical steps it will take to attack freedom and suppress liberty in the name of its political agenda and ideology. They don’t believe in freedom or liberty. All the Left wants is submission and compliance as they try to mold the world into their Marxist, communist utopia. This policy was another one of their ruthless attempts to transform a free society.
Fortunately, PayPal’s attempt at authoritarianism was met with quick and significant backlash. The company retreated from its policy and released a statement saying the policy was posted “in error.” Paypal tried totalitarianism but it was the people that shut it down.
“An AUP notice recently went out in error that included incorrect information,” said a PayPal spokesperson. “PayPal is not fining people for misinformation and this language was never intended to be inserted in our policy. Our teams are working to correct our policy pages. We’re sorry for the confusion this has caused.”

PayPal didn’t post the policy as a mistake; the company knew what it was doing. The company’s only error was that it foolishly did not recognize the outrage its policy would create. They had every intention of implementing their Big Tech totalitarianism; the people who stood up to them and threatened to boycott the company led to their retreat.
PayPal’s attempt at totalitarianism should be a wake-up call to all freedom-loving people. It’s indicative of our culture war and the looming battles ahead. People must know the magnitude of the Left’s thirst for power. Moreover, they must realize the imminent threat liberals, Democrats, and other left-wing activists pose to our cherished American freedoms. The people must resist these abuses and protect our country’s republicanism and liberties.
