Prince George’s County police are investigating the theft of cooking oil from a Oxon Hill restaurant, and they are asking the public to help identify the suspects.
On March 13, around 10:20 p.m., two men drove a Chevy GMC delivery truck to the back of a restaurant in the 5100 block of Indian Head Highway. The incident was caught on surveillance video.
The men broke the lock to a cooking oil container, and used a long hose to siphon the grease into a container in the truck, and fled. Cooking oil is used in a number of consumer products and is valuable on the secondary market, police said.
The delivery truck had a temporary registration plate that had been curled up an unreadable, police said.
Anyone with information about this case or other cooking oil-related theft cases are asked to call investigators at (240) 695-7435.
