Flip-flops? Trump’s transformations are like shaking a Magic 8 Ball [VIDEO]

Seth Meyers devoted Monday’s “A Closer Look” segment for Late Night to “Trump Transforms for the General Election” and epically congratulated Trump.

Meyers referenced Trump’s rebuke of Chris Cuomo for not congratulating him and wanted to correct the record.

“I realized we at Late Night talk about Trump all the time,” Meyers said. “And we haven’t congratulated him either, so if you’re watching Mr. Trump, congratulations. You did it! You are a big boy who did a big boy thing! And we, we are so, so f**king proud of you.”

Meyers reminded viewers that Trump had said he would change once he got closer to the general election. “I’m very capable of changing to anything I want to change to,” Trump said in February.

“Trump talks to voters like the mysterious bad boy from any teen drama,” Meyers noted.

Meyers admitted that candidates on both sides of the aisle tend to change, though it’s not always so blatant. “Gaffes used to hurt politicians, unlike today when the Trump campaign runs on gaffoline.” Meyers referenced Trump tweeting out a photo of him eating from a taco bowl on Cinco de Mayo to court Hispanics.

Trump is a Magic 8 ball, according to Meyers: “You shake it up and you get one answer. You shake it again and get something completely different.”

To prove his point, he mentioned Trump’s various responses on the minimum wage, his tax plan, and self-funding since he has become the presumptive nominee.

Meyers concluded by playing sound bites from other Republican candidates who had spoken out against Trump, but now support his campaign. Meyers failed to note that those he mentioned, including Governor Bobby Jindal, Senator Rand Paul, and Governor Rick Perry, are supporting Trump because he is now the presumptive nominee.
