N.Y. woman killed in Maryland crash

A New York woman was killed after she struck another vehicle and then a tree in a Maryland traffic accident.

Anne Arundel County police said the crash happened shortly after 11 a.m. Monday, when 76-year-old Shirley Walker-Lloyd side-swiped another vehicle while she was driving on Quarterfield Road near Myers Drive in Severn. Walker-Lloyd, of Islip, N.Y., then drove her 2001 Honda Odyssey van off the roadway and struck a tree.

She was not wearing a seatbelt and witnesses said she appeared to have been suffering from a medical condition at the time of the crash, police said.

The two Anne Arundel County men in the side-swiped car were unharmed, authorities said.
