What’s more dramatic than a cupcake catastrophe? How about fainting on your wedding day.
That’s what happened to Georgetown Cupcake owner and “D.C. Cupcakes” star Katherine Kallinis right before her Sept. 17th ceremony in Montecito, Calif., to now-hubby Ben Berman. Kallinis’ Vera Wang dress fit too snugly, causing her to pass out and then she walked down the aisle with the gown partially unzipped. This, and a batch of the usual cupcake making chaos, was captured for the reality show and will be part of “D.C. Cupcakes: My Sweet Wedding,” which airs Friday on TLC.
For the wedding, Kallinis’ sister and business partner Sophie LaMontagne surprised the bride with a nine foot tall cupcake tower featuring 5,000 Georgetown Cupcakes frosted with champagne buttercream, fondant roses and edible pearls.
The special airs at 10 p.m., with an episode of “Say Yes To The Dress” featuring Kallinis airing at 9 p.m.
