Shooting at Milwaukee funeral home leaves seven injured

Seven people were injured in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Wednesday during a shooting in front of a funeral home.

While an estimated 100 mourners were gathered outside Serenity Funeral Home, an unknown assailant drove by and opened fire, police said.

“It’s the insanity of people solving their problems with guns,” said Mayor Tom Barrett. “It’s just completely insane, and we’re seeing way too much of that in this community this year.”

Milwaukee acting Police Chief Michael Brunson said that all of the victims are in stable condition and are expected to survive. The perpetrator of the shooting is still at-large.

The crowd was gathered to mourn the loss of 26-year-old Braxton Taylor, who was fatally shot on Sept. 17. His homicide is still unsolved. It is unclear at press time whether the two incidents are related.
