DNC Speakers Lash Out: Romney Likes to Fire People

Speakers at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) jumped on the opportunity to bash Mitt Romney about his Bain Capital record.

Delaware Governor Jack Markell said that Mitt Romney was not qualified to be President because he did not learn the right lessons from his life as an over-privileged person and therefore has no connection to the average working class person.

“Mitt Romney says he likes to fire people. Barack Obama? He likes to see people hired.” he said.

Guess he doesn’t realize that Obama, in his position as President, doesn’t hire people?

Or, if he’s mistaking ‘job creation’ for actually ‘hiring’ people, he didn’t get a look at the latest jobs report which shows the depressingly slow job growth that Americans have experienced under the Obama administration.

Three ex-Bain Capital employees also found themselves with a open mic at the DNC where they spouted their carefully prepared stories of their treatment, and firing, at the hands of Romney’s company.

“Mitt Romney will stick it to working people,” said Randy Johnson who worked for the Ampad plant in Marion, Id, which was featured in a fierce Obama campaign ad.

David Foster, former lead negotiator for GST Steel workers in Missouri said that we don’t need a President that fires steel workers or says, ‘Let Detroit go Bankrupt.”

But the relevant point here is that, even though they paint Romney as a ruthless money grabber at the expense of others, the DNC was only able to conjure up three Bain Capital employees, out of thousands, to speak badly of their CEO.

Not very impressive.
