Published November 5, 2024 4:57am ET

The average price for a gallon of regular gas has increased slightly on Nov. 5, Election Day. It is a minimal increase but an increase nonetheless, as the new price for a gallon of regular gas in the country stood at $3.102, a slight difference from Monday’s price of $3.101.

Overall, the average gas price has been consistently dropping in recent months. Despite Tuesday’s increase, recent national price averages have followed this trend as Tuesday’s price is less expensive than a week ago, when the average price for regular gas was $3.134 per gallon. The same holds for a month ago, when regular gas was more expensive than Tuesday, coming in at $3.177 per gallon.
