Ex-bookkeeper for Grundy County accused of theft

CHICAGO (AP) — A former bookkeeper for Grundy County has been charged with stealing $44,000 in public funds and spending it on shopping trips and restaurant meals.

Forty-five-year-old Renae Chronister of Morris appeared Thursday in Grundy County Criminal Court. She’s charged with theft and official misconduct.
