After compiling a winning streak of historic proportions (43 straight) over Navy, Notre Dame has struggled against the Midshipmen, losing at home in 2007 and 2009, and needing to hold off a furious Mids’ rally in Baltimore in 2008.
Perhaps a new venue, on a different continent, can change the luck of the Irish.

The teams will play the 2012 game at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland. The state-of-the-art facility, which opened in May, has been praised for its alluring and unique architecture and its environmental consciousness.
The Sept. 1 game will be the first time the teams meet in their respective openers. It will not, however, be the first time the rivalry has gone to Ireland. Croke Stadium in Dublin hosted the 1996 meeting, a 54-27 Notre Dame victory.
