A 16-year-old who allegedly dragged a police officer more than 200 feet after a traffic stop was arrested and charged with multiple traffic violations, resisting arrest and assault charges, police said.
Jesse Holbrook, from the Northeast area, was arrested Tuesday, according to Elkton Police Lt. Lawrence Waldridge Jr. He was charged as an adult and released Tuesday night on $15,000 bond.
Cpl. David Confer pulled Holbrook over near Routes 40 and 213 last week and asked the teen to exit the vehicle. But the teen revved his engine and took off, according to police, and Confer had to break the driver?s side window to free himself.
He fell to the road between 200 and 300 feet later on Route 213 and received minor injuries, including road rash. He was treated at Union Hospital but was still at home recovering Wednesday, Waldridge said.
