D.C. Councilman Tommy Wells is feelin’ mighty good this afternoon, taking credit for a $6.9 million cash shift that he hopes will let the city redeveloped Reservation 13.
The federal reservation, some 67 acres south of RFK Stadium along the Anacostia River, has long been viewed as an uncut diamond by developers.
But the city had to buy some property before the feds approved the land swap. The “reprogramming” announced Tuesday allows the city to buy that land.
