Piers Morgan jokingly threatened to “ruin a great Australian career and legend” when he stepped onto the cricket pitch with Brett Lee.
Turns out the “great Australian” just ruined Morgan’s ribs.
The English journalist and CNN host tweeted an X-ray of his rib cage early Tuesday, and it showed his bones’ worst fear: his recent face-off with Lee, an Australian cricketer known for the velocity of his throws (“bowling”), gave him a fractured rib.

If you missed it over the weekend, Morgan, a devout and outspoken supporter of England’s national cricket team, chided his side for going “soft” against Australia in a “test” series — the type that can last several days — between the two nations. In response, the hard-throwing Lee (recently retired from international competition) challenged Morgan to face him for a little taste of just how difficult the sport is at the highest level.
The resulting picture is indeed worth a thousand words.
And a broken rib, too.
