On Monday night, “Daily Show” host John Oliver did a segment about weed, which turned into a bet about Segways.
It began with Oliver talking about CNN expert, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, flip-flopping on medicinal marijuana in a special for the cable channel.
“I have to give CNN credit where it’s due,” Oliver stated. “Their weed special answered the most pressing questions about the legitimate medical uses of marijuana and they also answered the questions that absolutely no one has been asking–what’s Piers Morgan like when he’s high?”
Oliver then showed a CNN clip where Morgan makes a “shocking revelation.” Morgan tried cannabis as “a younger lad.” Then the talking head offers up this gem: “I’ve also had to have Vicodin when I broke some ribs falling off–embarrassingly–a Segway in Santa Monica,” Morgan said, adding that he got much higher from the Vicodin.
“OK, this is important, I would like to personally offer $10,000 in reward to anyone who can bring me footage of Piers Morgan falling off that Segway,” Oliver stated. “Neither Vicodin, nor marijuana, nor the purest ecstasy could bring anyone as much joy as that videotape could.”
Lucky for Oliver, Morgan must be a fan of the “Daily Show.” The CNN host, via Twitter, coughed up the footage himself, asking for the $10,000 and noting that he broke five ribs, punctured a lung and spent two months on Vicodin after the Segway spill.
