The actor who featured in a controversial advertisement for Peloton bought his girlfriend the stay-at-home exercise machine for Christmas.
Sean Hunter, who rose to fame after playing the husband in Peloton’s viral bike commercial, posted a picture with his girlfriend and a new Peloton bike in their Canadian home in Vancouver, British Columbia.
“Here’s hoping this goes over better the second time,” wrote Hunter, who goes by @pelotonhusband on Instagram. “Merry Christmas to my actual girlfriend (pls don’t leave me).”
The original advertisement showed a husband gifting his fit wife a Peloton bike for Christmas. The lampooned commercial was searched more than President Trump’s impeachment in December and led to a sell-off of Peloton’s stock after viewers mocked the ad.
The company released a statement in December saying they were “disappointed” by how the ad was being interpreted.
