Two convicted of attempted murder
Two men who invaded a King Farm home were convicted of shooting a man in stomach and stabbing another in the arm. The six-day trial in Montgomery County ended with a jury convicting Harold Diggs and Traimne Allen on nine charges, including attempted murder, assault and robbery. The men were spotted rushing into an apartment in the King Farm subdivision by police who were conducting surveillance nearby. The men inside the apartment were set up for the robbery by women they had brought back with them, authorities said. The women left the apartment just before Diggs and Allen rushed in.
Alexandria man dies in motorcycle crash
A 22-year-old Alexandria man was killed when his motorcycle struck a sport utility vehicle in Alexandria, Fairfax County police said. Sergiu Mocanu hit the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee on Tuesday evening near the intersection of Little River Turnpike and Lincoln Avenue after he lost control of his motorcycle, police said. The 61-year-old man driving the Jeep was not hurt.
