A North Carolina family abandoned its dog over the fear that it might be gay.
Fezco, a 4- to 5-year-old black and brown dog, was reportedly seen by family members mounting another male dog, which caused them to worry that he was a homosexual.
Taking action to secure the heterosexuality of their household, Fezco’s owners delivered him to Stanly County Animal Protective Services, an animal shelter in North Carolina, according to a report.

The family informed employees of the dog’s sexual actions, and they expressed how dismayed they were when Fezco appeared to get physical with another male dog, animal rescuers said.

It was unlikely that Fezco’s actions were an indication of his sexual preference, as what he did was extremely common for canines, the report noted.
Fezco wasn’t at the shelter for long.
He found a new home, after a North Carolina gay couple took him in, according to a report.

Steve Nichols and his partner, John, adopted the dog Tuesday and renamed him “Oscar” in honor of the gay Irish playwright and poet Oscar Wilde.

Fezco/Oscar weighs roughly 50 pounds and is described as very friendly to people and other animals, the shelter said.
