Looking at one poll is sometimes dangerous. But several together–all pointing in the same direction–can tell a story. And for Barack Obama, this narrative is scary. Rasmussen, Gallup, and Fox released national polls in the last two days that break out this way:
Gallup: Clinton 49%, Obama 45% Fox: Clinton 44%, Obama 41% Rasmussen: Clinton 46%, Obama 44%
Two weeks ago, many of these same polls showed Obama with anywhere between a 5-10 percent lead. While the most recent results all show a virtual statistical tie, it’s the trend over the past couple of weeks that is striking. The Rasmussen poll, for example, reveals a ten-point swing toward Clinton since the Wright press conference.
