It’s as if those nude pictures of Elisabetta Canalis or those lettuce bikini-clad Playmates who offer vegan hot dogs on Capitol Hill weren’t getting them enough attention. On Tuesday the Norfolk Virginian-Pilot broke the news that the folks at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals were working on creating a pornographic website.
The animal rights group has applied for the web domain peta.xxx and will create a site that features graphic videos and photographs, more “erotica” than pornographic, PETA spokeswoman Lindsay Rajt told Yeas & Nays.
“When we heard about the triple X domain, we immediately thought it will be triple extra effective in bringing out the message of animals right and eating a vegan diet,” she said. If approved, peta.xxx would launch in November or early December, according to Rajt.
This isn’t the first time the group has reached out to the adult industry. Porn stars Jenna Jameson and Ron Jeremy have appeared in PETA campaigns in the past.
