There are several celebrities praising President Obama‘s decision to delay construction for the new Keystone XL pipeline — which would connect oil from tar sands in Alberta, Canada to refineries on the Texas gulf coast — and his new push for an alternate route to avoid environmentally sensitive areas across the Midwest. “Seinfeld” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus joined other celebrities including Robert Redford and Mark Ruffalo to protest the permits for the pipeline earlier this month – and now they’ve released statements of support for the president, with Ruffalo tweeting his thanks to Obama “for standing against corporate cronyism and climate change and stopping to rethink the #KeystoneXL pipeline.” Redford released a video via the National Resources Defense Council to thank the president for his decision, and actor John Cusack also tweeted his support on Thursday, writing “congrats to him for doing the right thing.”
