OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. (AP) — Malco Theatres has revived plans for a 12-screen theater in Olive Branch.

The Commercial Appeal reports (http://bit.ly/YX0AxR) that initial site work was completed several years ago but the project was put on hold when the recession hit.

Malco plans to have the theater complete by mid-2013.

Malco officials say the cinema will anchor a planned development that will include a couple of restaurants that want to open next to the theater location.

Malco also had projects in Louisiana and Arkansas that were put on hold but are now set to resume, according to company officials.

Malco recently completed the renovation of the Ridgeway Four Cinema in Memphis, Tenn., and is working on another in Germantown.
