‘Draft Biden’ gears up for VP entering race

Vice President Joe Biden has begun seriously considering a run for president, according to the New York Times.

As chinks appear in the armor of Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton’s candidacy, Biden aides have reportedly contacted left-leaning donors who have yet to buy into Clinton. The Times’ opinion section reported that Biden has held meetings with friends, families, and donors at his home about entering the 2016 race. And Beau Biden, the vice president’s son who died from cancer earlier this summer, allegedly urged his father to run after Beau Biden knew he would not survive cancer.

Biden has not publicly commented on the new speculation that he is considering a run for higher office, but the Times opinion section has reported that Biden spoke with his dying son about a run, which has led to speculation that the vice president is behind the rumors. Next week, the “Draft Biden” movement will hold a fundraiser in Los Angeles to get the ball rolling, according to the Los Angeles Times.
