A woman was arrested after a viral video allegedly showed her stealing a 7-year-old Trump supporter’s red hat.
Olivia Winslow, 21, was taken into custody on Friday in Wilmington, Delaware, one day after the video of Thursday’s altercation was published. She has been charged with robbery, conspiracy, and endangering the welfare of a child and was released on her own recognizance after the arraignment.
The video, taken on Thursday, was published by Students for Trump and shows two women ripping signs and throwing the 7-year-old child’s “Make America Great Again” hat into a fenced-off area.
“Outside the DNC Convention tonight, radical leftists attacked a 7 year old boy,” Students for Trump wrote on Twitter Thursday night. “Why? Because he was simply showing his support for President @realDonaldTrump. Truly shameful.”

The mother and child, identified as Abbey and Riley, said they had left a peaceful protest against Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and were waiting for a table at a restaurant near Wilmington’s riverfront when they were attacked.
“Suddenly, two Joe Biden supporters began to yell political epithets at my child. They ripped the sign from my arms and assaulted my seven-year-old son,” she wrote in a statement, adding that “the Joe Biden supporters laid hands on my child and ripped his ‘Make America Great Again’ hat from his head while cursing at him and pushing him over. The two Joe Biden supporters verbally and physically assaulted my child. My 7-year-old child was sobbing and screaming.”
Abbey said that she was “punched in the face multiple times by the assailants” during the incident and demanded Biden apologize to her son.
“Joe Biden owes my son an apology for fomenting the hate that will now scar my son for life,” she said. “If children aren’t off-limits to their violence, who is?”
The video, which had more than 4 million views as of Saturday afternoon, was shared by Donald Trump Jr., who called the incident “sick,” and asked for help identifying the perpetrators.
