New York can’t claim “choice” while silencing it

Published

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) recently announced another $20 million in taxpayer funding to expand access to abortion pills. In doing so, she declared, “We are facing a time when our fundamental rights are under attack by anti-choice politicians who are determined to dismantle established reproductive freedoms.” She added, “New York will always remain a safe haven for people seeking care, and I will never back down from fighting to protect access to healthcare that thousands of New Yorkers rely on.”

Those are strong words about freedom and rights. But they ring hollow when placed alongside what is happening at the very same time in New York.
