Buried alive, puppies and dog saved at university

It’s the perfect story of how a happy ending could have gone wrong, if not for the perfect timing. At the Lanzhou University in western China, a dog and her puppies were saved from being buried alive after students heard muffled barks.

As One Green Planet reported, students began digging and found a dog who had been buried nursing her six puppies. The students rescued and secretly cared for the puppies. But, as puppies will do, they began to wander off. Animals Asia was then called in to help, and they were taken to a nearby facility.

Both the mama dog and her puppies are doing well, and are trusting of humans. The puppies will also be able to find homes soon, since they’ve been able to eat solid food.

One Green Planet points to how social media has especially been effective. After their ordeal was shared online, the puppies were able to find homes all the way over in the United Kingdom. More pictures here.
