A Democrat doing the Harlem Shake at the Harlem Shake would be the most meta thing Washington’s majority party has done since it collected your data.
Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.), who faces a primary test for his House seat this Tuesday, is hosting a dance party Saturday evening in New York City for his campaign. The “First Day of Summer Community Flash Mob Dance Party” — good heavens there’s a lot going on there — is advertised to feature the Wobble, the Cha Cha Slide, the Electric Slide, and something called the Cupid Slide.

As The Hill reports, Rangel could potentially be unseated by State Sen. Adriano Espaillat; according to a Siena College poll released Thursday, Rangel leads him 47% – 34%.
Not that it’s indicative of anything, but Eric Cantor once held a 13-point lead against a primary challenger a few days before an election, too.
